About us

EXIST M is without a doubt one of the most significant and famous Belarus metal bands. Labeled as Modern Metal by the band members, EXIST M’s unique sound explores the space of more than two decades of heavy music, combining the pounding Groove metal riffs, powerful and speedy Death/Thrash metal rhythm section, intensity of Hardcore punk and even a pure-blooded Black metal blast beats. But it’s Nastya Palamar, the vocalist, who captures the spotlight. A powerhouse voice and the brutal and full of energy live appearance. The band’s extraordinary stage presence is another trademark. Along with the solid sound and the mosh pit madness it shows what EXIST M’s all about.

Formed in Minsk on December 11th 2005 by the bunch of then-music beginners EXIST M, albeit, gave its first live performance on April 1st 2006. And the first under the name EXIST M (the acronym of two previous working titles). Series of concerts followed until the fall of 2007, when the band went silent. As the three-piece lineup (Nastya Palamar – vocals, Alexey Yalovsky – guitars, Alexey Kuznetsov – bass, all the original members) the band started to work on the new material. At the end of the 2009 EXIST M resumed the concert activity, performing at the Metalfront Music Awards show. With an underwhelming critics’ review and the positive crowd reaction the band received “Best Newcomer” nomination. In summer of 2010 Denis Poluyan (Out Of Yesteryear, ex-Social Decay) joined as the drummer. With the new member the band performed at the annual Basowiszcza-2010 music festival in Poland, winning another nomination. The end of the year has brought a few more awards and nominations, “Best Band” and “Best Metal Voice” among them. In November 2010 EXIST M released an “Alter Ego” EP. In early 2011 Poluyan was replaced by ex-ID:Vision drummer Vadim “Forneus” Kondratsiuk and the band continued touring throughout Belarus. In summer EXIST M for the second time in a row appeared at Basowiszcza, headlining the first night of the festival. In November the band toured Ukraine for the first time.

In early 2012 the band started to work on their first full-length album, entitled “Redefining”. The entire year was spent finding the proper sound, recording and mixing. In this work the band achieved the complete unity of sound and lyrics, bringing the variety of complex musical/lyrical structures to the table. Not obsessing over one particular mood or genre, the album is a continuum of music ranging from Hardcore to Black metal, while lyrical themes deal with such contradictory things as hopefulness and despair. “Redefining”, released on December 1st, 2012, was critically acclaimed, some of the songs received heavy radio rotation.

EXIST M followed the album release with heavy touring, performing the full album live for the first time on March 6, 2013, in Re:Public, Minsk. One month later the band released their first official music video “Room 101”. The cover of famous Belarusian rock band Lyapis Trubetskoy’s “Nafta” was released as the single later that year. At the end of 2013 Witaly “Zmey” Siliuk (ex-Deathbringer) became the band's new drummer, but in 2015 Forneus returns to the band. As for now, EXIST M is one of the hardest-touring bands in Belarus.
